You should scoop every day. Cats love to be clean, so they don't want to have to go into a litter box that is already full... Change the actual litter once or twice a week to keep it fresh.

A litter box is the easiest to maintain if you use scoopable litter. The litter should be scooped on a daily basis to keep the box clean and eliminate more of the smell. As far as changing the entire box, I would clean it at least once a week. Before refilling the litter box, wash it out to eliminate any residual mess or smell. It will make you and your cat a lot happier.

You may not have to clean it everyday depending on how much you cat uses it but if the box starts to stink then you waited to long. If you are talking about replacing all the litter in the box I usually do it once every two or three weeks.

scoop everyday, and the complete change at least once a week. Litter deodorant works well, and also baking soda sprinkled in the box under the litter

clean all the waste out of there at least daily and do a full litter change every week to two weeks. We use litter liners in our litter box and usually they have poked enough holes in it in about 2 weeks so we judge it by that.

Well, a little confusing question but here goes.
I clean my cats litter box every day, depending on how much he uses it. Sometimes more than once per day.
I change the litter in the box itself about once a month.

I scoop out solids and wet patches at least once a day, usually twice. Then I change the whole litter every 3rd day. I use Beauticat wood pellets, they are really cheap and easy to use, as well as absorbing the smell.

I'm lucky i don't have to change it ever again!!! I switched to Feline Pine litter, it doesn't cling to paws, has no dust, 100% organic, CHEAP, neutralizes odors and it just turns into sawdust when wet and falls down to the bottom. I also use specially designed litter box for pine litter, saw dust falls through specila holes to the bottom container and u just dump it. Only fresh clean pine pellets in the litter box ALL THE TIME. I'm estatic. As far as poop, I just pick it up and throw into the toilet. Try it, it saves money, time and works like a charm. I use original, not scoopable version.

Every day I scoop out my cats' litter boxes in the morning and then again in the evening. Then once a week I empty them out completely, scrubb them out with hot soapy water and put new litter in them. It's good healthwise for the cats plus then your house doesn't smell like cat urine.
