I swear on anything my cat said mommy while meowing. It freaked me out so bad I thought for a min. my 12 yr. old walked home from school early. I don't drink, I'm not on drugs and the house was quiet. Is it possible the cat learned to immitate my girls when they say mommy?

Cats consider themselves to be far superior to us mere humans, and often play with our minds! Next time it happens, just pretend your cat was meowing and ignore it! This will drive it crazy!!!

They will definitely imitate tone of voice and sometimes I think they might be able to speak the language if they were honest with us, lol. There is an American Indian myth that dogs once had the gift of speech but because they are social animals, they visited everyone in camp, therefore, had the tendency to gossip. The gift was taken from them by the gods.
