keep it cool. Literally! Just dont use ice on your eye, you dont want to freeze it. Cold water on a towel is cold enough.

Visine takes away the red.
And, put a steak on it. They say there's something in the steak that pulls out the black and makes the eye heal faster.

On a more serious note I just think an optician is the best person to speak to. The eye is so precious and delicate and so I don't think i'll advice you to experiment anything with it coz it might go bad. good luck.

Make an eyepatch and tape it over your eye, tell everyone you got a splenter in your eye, it will heel up in a couple of days.

Boil an egg and put it in a cloth so it doesn't burn your eye. I've heard raw meat would help too but... ew... Good Luck!

it will be that way for awhile just b/c your bloodvessels are broke. If they weren't then putting ice on it would make it go away faster.
