Where can we REALLY draw the line?

Who are WE to say that one person's belief is true, or that one person's belief is a hallucination?

The reality that you live in... is it the same one you share with your friends? With strangers?

Where is it that you stop and say, "This can't be real, it's just my imagination!"

When is it that you see things with your own two eyes, instead of the eyes of a book? This isn't meant only for Christians, though. This is meant for Jews, Muslims, Atheists (your lovely textbooks, after all), Buddhists, and Hindus as well.

We only learn through asking questions. Hence why "He who knows the most asks the most questions." So, before you decide to quote any books you may have, think about it yourself.

Just stuff for your guys to think about. I hope everybody's brain is functioning today. These questions aren't meant to offend... but to support the use of that organ in your head.

Know the reality....here...scriptures are imagination....

God is prime element which is converted into cretion.in other word in the sky of infinity this infinitely existing one is called god,who is associated with all visible and invisible.God is an existence . we are part of it .Like a molecule in a stone. The molecule of infinity as a whole is called a stone.Likewise a small existence of god in every molecule is a prime truth. Effect of creation is called nature and being self processed. The procedure of processing is nature which is created by effect of creation. Now god is an existence and every part of god is managed by automatic system of nature .We are being managed by nature which is called “shakti”(almighty )and whole existece is called “shiva” .Respectively territorial parts of nature are called bhagwan\ deities. The prime soul of whole existing is “Ishwar”,which at present is in salvation position .Ishwar was and will be almighty at the time of starting conversion of element into creation and end of creation(kayamat). Then after he will be new creator of new creation .It is endless process and continuous process.Molecules of creation are being transformed into “Atma”by it”s nature. At present nature is almighty .All molecules of creation are self managed and effected (controlled) by automatic system of nature.Nature is effect of co-existence of molecules. Now we are under control of territorial bhagwans\deities(Teritorial nature).keeping in view to above facts it is clear that at present god is an existence and being self processed by it”s nature.

Reality-
a. something that exists independently of ideas concerning it.
b. something that exists independently of all other things and from which all other things derive.

Imagination-
The formation of a mental image of something that is neither perceived as real nor present to the senses.

Truth-
1. conformity with fact or reality.
2. a verified or indisputable fact, proposition, principle, or the like
3. actuality or actual existence

Hallucination-
a sensory experience of something that does not exist outside the mind, caused by various physical and mental disorders, or by reaction to certain toxic substances, and usually manifested as visual or auditory images.

Phychologists can REALLY draw the line, because they are proffesionals.

I don't think anyone's belief is a hallucination, but could be the works of imaginations.. We are rational thinkers to say a person's belief is an imagination. "Sanity is a one trick pony. All you get is one trick; rational thinking. But when you're good and crazy, the sky is the limit!"

The reality I live in is different from my friends and strangers. We all live in the same "reality", but we all have different ideas on what reality is. Whichever idea we consider to be real is that state we independantly live. Who can say that the yellow I see is the same color you see? Also, some people live in a "reality" where "God" exists, others live in a "reality" with no Gods. Some people live in a "reality" where the government is conspiring against them, and some people live in a "reality" with hallucinatory people and/or voices that tell them to kill people. We all share a real reality, but we all percieve reality differently.

I usually stop and say "This can't be real, it's just my imagination!" when I'm frying balls on acid or mushrooms. :) Besides for that, I've never had to seriously question what was real and what was not...

Thanks for supporting the organ in my head

Good question, difficult though because I have problems understanding these things myself.

Some days I think I know exactly what reality is and just the next day I learn something new that totally contradicts what I knew the day before.

Imagination can be a great tool when you control it and when you use it at the right time. Too much imagination can lead to becoming a distant person (I know, I have been there a lot).

Truth I seek for every day of my life.

Hallucinations...I guess I wouldn't even know if I get them or not.

Great question...I'm not sure my brain is up to its full capacity today, but I'm going to give it a go anyway.
The reality is that I may not be in the same reality as my family & freinds, or strangers. Aren't we all tied up in our own process, or experience? I think so.
We may all hold the same physical space but that doesnt mean that we take in the same bits of information or facts about the same situations.
I think if people put their books down and actually did see with their own two eyes they would be amazed & surprised.
Imagination is the key to awakening...Truth is the heart leading the mind...hallucination is worlds coming together & crossing a line between this world and the next. That line isnt ment to be drawn only felt as we pass it by.

My answer would be..."Is the line really there"

The reality's that we live in are definately NOT the same as anyone else's that you may know or not know. Your reality is subjective to your own personal thoughts and experiences. No one else can know what you think or are really like on the inside, and those things shape your reality. Other's may be involved in your reality, but their experience would be something very different from your own.

"this can't be real" Can you tell me what "IS REAL". You might reach out and touch something and say that it is a real object, but is it? Your fingers are sending impulses to your brain and telling it that you have touched something, and your eyes are sending impulses to your brain and telling it that you are seeing something, but all those are just impulses, of energy. Your brain takes those impulses and interperates them for you and sends back the image that you see and the texture that you feel, but are they "REAL" or are they just interperitation. The best guess that your brain could concieve of. Nothing that we see, hear, touch, feel, is real, it is all just impulses being translated by our brains into something that we can understand with our limited capacity of thought.

The only thing that can be said to be real is self awareness. "Conciousness" You are concious that you exist. You know that "You Are" I am me, and you may be a figment in my imagination, but I know that "I AM" aware of self.

Conciousness cannot be explained. Neither science nor Religion can give a reasonable explanation of how it came about. Where it stems from, what it may lead to. Conciousness is the question.

If you really want to ask questions, direct them at your concious self. Look around you and see what may or may not be there. See how your own conciousness may or may not shape the world around you and others as well as how others may be shaping your reality around you. Conciousness is a very powerful undiscovered source, and it is where "WE ALL" come from. It has no bounds of Race, religion, creed, politics, etc... we are all concious beings. It is the only thing that you may share with every other person on the planet.

Reality, Imagination, Truth, Hallucination- it all boils down to how we each define it in our heads. Granted, when people take it so far as to create a whole new and seperate reality from the rest of the world for themselves, we label them a schizophrenic....

However, that doesn't change anything. People wish to follow the 'eyes of a book' as you put it, becasue they are looking for guidance, for direction, and in this book, they see what matches to their definition of the world and how it works.

Many do not ask quetsions, becasue they are afraid of redefining their world, which is understandable- when we redefine our world we no longer have the control over it that we had before we redefined it.

So, when a person is ready to open they're eyes, to say this isn't real, it's my imagination, it's when they have accpeted that they can't go on without changing their veiws. Usually, this doesn't happend until they've backed themselves into a corner of some sort.

So yes, we can draw the line, as long as we're only drawing the line for ourselves, and not for other people.

What is Reality- Well to me Reality is Life. and when we live in reality we have to take the good with the bad and vice-versa!
What is Imagination- Well Imagination is something that every person has! When things become rough and it is hard to deal with, instead of facing the truth and asking God for his Love & Guidance, alot of people decide to use their Imaginations on their own terms and that is not a good thing to do! But what most people do not seem to understand is that when people do use their Imaginations they begin to realize that even though they are not asking God for his Love & Guidance, they are still recieving it! Because God will let you know & feel the dangers even though you are trying to block them out! Your Imagination might start out with a wonderful & beautiful image! But as the time goes on your imagination starts showing you that there is more to life then just beauty, you also have to watch out for the evils in life as well!
What is the Truth- Well the Truth is being Honest not only to others and to Our Holy Lord Above, But also to ourself as well,
Honesty is the Best Policy!!!!!
What is Hallucinaions- Hallucinations is a figment of our Imagination! Instead of accepting and following Gods terms with the love & evils that happens in life, people allow themselves to let the evil doings of Satin take control instead of Gods Love, Beauty, & Guidance!!!!!
I hope you understand my meaning on this matter!
God Bless You!!!!

The way I see it, the question is moot. It doesn't matter whether we're trapped in a cave watching shadows, or we're plugged into a computer simulation or the universe began last Thursday. What's important is that we understand the nature of reality "as far as we can tell". If the true nature of reality is beyond our perception, there is no point trying to find it.

The fact is that reality, truth, imagination, and hallucination are all a huge part of that organ in our head. Each person perceives everything differently than the rest, so in fact these things are what we make them to be.
