Evolution has an enormous amount of data backing it up -- almost 200 years worth! It is a SCIENCE -- it looks at the real world, forms hypotheses, tests them, and refines. The fact of evolution is not even debated anymore -- only the mechanisms.
Further, let me address the utter stupidity of a previous answerer.
wnymathguy said "Evolution cannot! be proved with science. It lacks the ability to have a counter example, thus cannot be disproved."
This is retarded. Every bit of evidence for evolution has a potential falsification. If you don't believe it, read everything on this page -- http://talkorigins.org/faqs/comdesc/ -- Notice how each evidence has a "potential falsification" section?
Further, the fact of evolution (ignoring the mechanism) is due to these obscenely simple observations:
1) Complex life can only come from similar complex life.
2) The fossil record goes from simple to complex over time.
If those two things are true, which they are, then SOMEHOW animals must have EVOLVED from simple to complex. This is known as the Fact of evolution. Exactly how they evolved (i.e. the mechanism) is being hashed out in science circles, but this does not change the fact. In labs today we can apply artificial selection to different species and get them to evolve -- thus PROVING the concept of evolution.
So please let there be no mistake. Evolution is fact. HOW it happened is still under consideration -- but the fact is we all share a common ancestor.
Show me a single spontaneous generation of a complex animal from nothing (or from a rock or completely different species), and evolution is destroyed. There's your counterexample.

Evolution cannot! be proved with science. It lacks the ability to have a counter example, thus cannot be disproved. Study fossils, yes. Study the time-line and location of bones, yes. Study Darwin's theory about them, NO; that should be put in a theater class. His stuff is no more scientific than the theory that everything doubles in size at the stroke of midnight! The only reason you don't know it happened is the rulers doubled too.
Public School is not about education. It is a bureaucracy designed to hand exorbitant public funds to selected people called administrators and principals. It also has as its primary purpose to as cheaply as possible keep children from hurting each other while their parents work, and indoctrinate them to be timely shifted workers who can do mundane business activities efficiently in the future.
I never saw any atheist shove anything on me. Putting the jackess Darwin aside for the moment, the church has proved itself to be a bad authority on what to teach. We'd still be a flat Earth at the center of the Universe singing Gregorian Chants if the Vatican didn't loose it's power through the abuse of it's power.
I'm against Darwin's theory because it's main use is to try to prove the validity of racism. Screw Darwin and the boat he rode in on!

I don't believe it is just atheist who do not want the creation theory taught in school, it is a number of groups and religions. The fact is there are countless religions in this world and even though America is a predominantly Christian country, there are just too many religions for christian beliefs to be taught in the schools. But, that also means no teaching of muslim belief, hindu, judaeo-christian, pagan, etc. either! The reasons evolution is taught in schools is because many people in the world need a scientific reason to explain our existance and so they have found Evolution. Whether I believe in evolution or creation is not the point, the point is this... we need to be understanding of those with other beliefs than ours and all should understand that no theory is with out flaws.

The thing is that public schools are public, this means that you have to respect the views of others, whether they are religious or atheist. Some schools have prayer clubs that meet before school and pray and after school and pray. I personally think that any person should not worry about what someone else thinks or feels, because people on both sides have both been accused of forcing their beliefs down each other throats.

This is a frustrating topic. You are right to say that only teaching evolution is biased. It is really frustrating to watch nature shows and visit museums for that same reason.
I was fortunate that long ago when I was in school we were "taught" that there were two "theories".
They told us that some people believe in evolution and some people believe in creation.
I didn't realize how lucky I was!
So, if both sides could be presented, then they should be taught. Otherwise both should be illegal. It is wrong to teach evolution as fact.
God will reveal the truth, but unfortunately when He does it might be too late for our evolutionist friends to repent.
Thanks for your question. It is nice to know that there are others who see how far we have veered away from the truth of God's Creation.
God Bless!

I definitely and individually have yet to be certain, n my section, an atheist that has been on a radio, television, or the different form of information-entertainment that would desire to point anti-faith. I regularly see many theists nevertheless merchandising their faith like hell, working example, westboro. enable gay human beings to sleep in a lodge? what's this the middle an prolonged time? and hiding a non secular image? to be independent that would desire to be a sturdy thought, yet there are extra religious human beings than atheists, i do no longer see the place you're going with this...question.

Science belongs in schools. God mythology belongs in churches.
Why is this simple concept to amazingly difficult for some people to comprehend??

Since evolution has no factual basis, the evolutionist are VERY afraid of any other competing point of view....and thus they try to force it down the public's throat.
And of course, as you noticed most evolutionists are religious bigots.

I do not agree, evolution can be proven with science, while creation can not be.
Creation is more of a need to think that we are more then we are, and less then we could be.

first, evolution is not based on religious beliefs. second, creationism is based on religious beliefs. there are plenty of students in public schools who do not believe what you do. don't you realize you would be pushing your belief on them?
