I have tried mayo and whisked raw eggs, worked a bit, but i need more extreme things.

Olive oil...really?

I have heard of using horse conditioner, but I have also heard that it makes your hair unnaturally shiney and weighs it down.

Mix equal parts olive oil and conditioner together. Wet your hair completely with the mix, then wrap cling wrap or a shower cap over your hair.
Next, wrap a towel over and leave overnight if you can.
The warmth from your head is enough to make the moisture penetrate your hair.
You may have to shampoo a couple of times to get it out but I have used this method with success.
Try it once a week.

Try honey. Wash your hair first, condition, comb and then warm the honey and smear it on wet hair. bag it. rinse only after about an hour. Also I have heard that virgin coconut oil works well too.

As a professional though I would strongly advise you to go to a salon and get deep heating treatments. They don't cost that much and you will probably find out u need a cut too. Find a stylist you like though by making appts for consultations. Ask if they charge, some do and some don't. There are so many prima donna stylists out there and some shouldn't even be in the field...so make sure you have the eye contact and you feel like they are listening to your needs....(of course they should know by looking at your hair what your needs are) but you may wind up wanting to do a little more. Anyway, good luck.

hair is dead, its is not a living part of the body, so it cannot be 'healed'..it can be coated with conditioners and treatments that can 'fill in' the rough cuticle surface, but repair isn't really possible. the best thing to do is find a rich conditioner, use it regularly and keep cutting the hair until the really damaged part is gone.

Try pantenne Pro V shampoo and the conditioner. I have really thick dry brittle and wavy hair and it works wonders.

mayo works really good. Put in on your hair and leave in for about 10 minutes or so, and then wash it as normal. It really makes your hair look shiny and healthy.

I use Herbal Essence. Also, if yo uhave hard water, rinse your hair after washing it with store bought drinking or spring water. About a quart at a time will do.
