I am thinking of adopting a child permanently and I live in California. Has anyone done this in this state? What are the requirements and fees involved? Please help

Depending on which way you go. You can hire a attorney to help your find a birth mother who selects you ( could be in the 25- 30K range ). or you could adopt international ( 20K - 50K ).

Or you could do what my wife and are doing, adopt through your county. In CA you pay some little fees like 50-100 dollars. You must become a licensed foster parent ( all the training, which is quite helpful ) Then your placed with a child and are paid a monthly subside for that child until he or she turns 18. and yes you can adopt infants, but the wait is much longer.

Your should check out this site

research the message board section, you can learn ever so much. Good Luck
