Asking "what do women like sexually?" is like asking "what's the best candy?"---so many varieties, and so much out there to try....
FWIW, me and most of my women-sisters---straight, lesbian, and bi--like partners that are creative, gentle, thoughtful, and funny, with good communication skills. It helps tremendously if the person is really likeable OUTSIDE of bed, although some of us do enjoy recreational sex on occasion, "just for the fun of it."
In terms of what positions, activities, words to say....get feedback from the partner. And what worked last week with her may not be perfect this week---our moods/body reactions change, depending on hormones, what's going on in our lives, the weather, etc. (And yes, you males also have the same frequent moodchanges, so no eyerolling!)
A really fantastic book---the best general-purpose sex information book I've EVER seen, and I'm a nurse---is the Guide to Getting It On, by Paul Joannides. Check reviews on Amazon.
GTGIO literally covers everything, from basic anatomy to all sorts of sexual explorations and techniques (all orientations) to sexual problems to talking to kids about sex. Nearly 800 pages for $20, and it's a funny, irreverent, but detailed read. Lots of quotations from real-life users. I've seen it on-shelf at Borders also.
