no...what this is suggesting is that, if people will start to consider that there COULD be other possibilities, rather than saying, "no, there is no other possibility, i know this is right, it is absolute", it can usher in doubt for a belief. it's like admitting to anyone else and yourself that you MIGHT be wrong. that it's a possibility.

Getting people to think about other possibilities IS a way to get people to change their beliefs, but only if they want to change their beliefs. You can show some people the truth, and they still won't budge. I responded to a question about Kevin Trudeau and called him a "convicted felon" (which he is) and she (person posing the question) just got ticked off at me because I had the "audacity" to call him a convicted felon! I asked her to provide me with evidence that he was right and she just said (essentially) "read the book" - which is NOT evidence. I provided her with three links that he IS a convicted felon, but she still thinks he is a hero and not a con man. Some people think the Earth is flat. You can only change the minds of people that are reasonable, not the ones that aren't - they aren't worth the effort. Evolution is real - study DNA and you will KNOW that it is real, no matter what some Creationist says. Creationists add parts to evolution that aren't there - they don't really understand the concept, only what they THINK is the concept.

You should think about issues all the way through, and Im glad you do. The goal is to find the truth . You can believe in evolution and still be probing the God concept. It shows your intelligent and have a real desire not to be stubborn for the hell of it, but to arrive at an answer that will give you a degree of peace. The answer is sometimes right in front of us. Rock on.

The statement is accurate just not necessarily true as stated. Including a term like "perhaps" would make its meaning a little more clear. It's just a little ambiguous. Getting someone to think about a subject could effect their way of understanding it. That's sort of what learning is all about.

Evolution is science's way of telling God He can't create in 6 days. Nothing happens that fast, according to mans time clock.

Nope. You are right-you are right-do a happy dance! Thinking does however open the door to other possibilities--is this a philosophical debate?

You can believe in God, but you can't believe in evolution. You can understand evolution, but you can't understand God.

I think you can consider peoples answers and decide for yourself what you want to believe...and i think you know that. No one can force you into anything.
