every night i set my DDR (dance dance revolution--its' a game for ps2, where you have a dance pad and there are arrows on the screen and you have to step/dance according to the arrows....) to excercise mode. and i do it until i burn 150 calories. it takes like 45 minutes. and on the screen it says that it is equivalent to jogging about a mile and a half, or jumping rope around 1500 times, or swimming close to a mile.
should i be doing more, or less, or is what i am doing, good enough?
i set it to the aerobic setting.....

5'6" 121 sounds pretty good, keep the pace up and keep the exercise, doesn't sound like you should be doing anymore or less.

you need to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.

Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Good luck and stick at it.

I think your exercise routine is perfectly fine. Every night is fine, but I would suggest one rest day so you can let your body recover. Also, you might want to include light resistance training if one of your goals is to tone your body. If you do include resistance training, be sure to do that before your cardio..or you will feel tired.

At 5'6 and 121 pounds it is hard to tell if you are on the somewhat light side of normal or not. It really depends on your body type. Otherwise, what you are doing is great. Keep up the good work.

you sound perfectly fit - i agree with the other answer don't do any more and you might want too scale back how many times a week you go through your work out, cause too much exercise can be just as bad as not enough, most recommend three too four times a week, and this is so that your body can heal up from some of the tissue breakdown that occurs from exercising.
but here's to your health and best wishes for keeping fit.

cheers!!!!
