I was thinking of doing that once. I met a guy online, and we had a great time IMing, talking on the phone, etc. It was hard because we never got to see each other and I was in high school, plus he was young and had no car. (He was a few hours away.) He finally came to visit and it was great, but after a while I realized it wasn't going to work out. It was due to issues unrelated to our internet beginning.

My brother met his girlfriend online and they seem like a perfect match! I don't know if they'll get married or not. Some people can find the perfect match online. Actually, in some ways this is a better way to meet because all you have to go by is the person's ideas and personality. You chat with them for hours and, assuming this person is legit, you learn all the important things about them. The internet has definitely deepened the marriage pool for a lot of hopeless singles.

So if you're sure this person is for real, go for it! One more thing--I know you're tired of hearing this by now, but BE CAREFUL!

P.S. I DO think you ought to meet at least once or twice before you set a date for the wedding! :-)

Not only is it strange, I think that it is very foolish.
How would you possibly know that you are in love with someone that you haven't met? You would have no idea if the person they are on line (or on the phone) is who they really are. They could be using a fake name, fake picture, fake attitude, and fake everything. He could be a convicted felon, married, or any number of contemptible things.
I think that while it's possible to start a relationship anonymous, at some point you have to meet in person. You would have to live together to have a successful "real" marriage. Trust, honesty, sex, and other things can't be established with a stranger. And a stranger is what someone is if you haven't met in person.

Yes it is very strange if your talking about internet love then how do you know that they are telling you the truth? What they say may never be true. I had a friend once who thought they were in love and then found out that they had only talked to that person once the rest of the time his friends had gotten onto his computer and used his screen name she was devistated when she found out. She was ready to move to be with him. That is silly. Then she realized how crazy she sounded. But then other times marriages turn out great from internet. But I wouldn't do it.

It totally depends on the people involved. My best friend met her future husband online. They fell in love online and solidified it once they met in person. He moved here and they were married within months.

The people involved must be honest and open though.

I don't belive you can truly love someone until you spend time togather and really get to know each other face to face.
