I just got the tooth on my top left (all the way in the back) pulled an hour ago. What's the best kind of food to eat for dinner? I can't eat anything too hot or spicy.

Try scrambled eggs, soup (especially with bread chunks or crackers sopped in it), baked potatoes, cottage cheese, or pasta with a mild sauce.

Or stick to the kinds of things you'd eat when you have the flu: oatmeal, applesauce, jello, soups----easy-to-swallow, relatively bland things, not too hot.
Missing a "solid" meal will probably not kill you, but you should have something, for the nourishment. If chewing seems absolutely impossible, milk can be a reasonable meal.

P.S. If the dentist gave you some painkillers to use "as needed", I'd suggest you see about taking a dose shortly before you go to bed, if at no other time....it's awful being woken up by pain!

Applesauce, mac-n-cheese, yogurt, soup, spaghetti with out meat balls, oatmeal, ice cream, any type of juice, peanut butter sandwiches, grits, mashed tators, that is what I remember when I had to do the same. I am sure there are others out there that you may like better! Just be careful after the procedure. You will have to fast before hand and will be starved when it is done. When all was over they brought me some soup that had to be the temperature of the corana of the sun. I, being starved ate it down. The flesh peeling from the roof of my mouth out weighed any pain from the extracted teeth once the pain meds were no longer effective!

Have some cooled off soup. If you like chinese, go for the egg drop soup. If you like Italian, go for a Tuscan bread soup. Let it COOL!!!

If you like chicken noodle, do it. I can never get enough of that. Have a cool iced tea with it, and you're good to go.

Feel better!!!

any sort of broth/soup/mushy kind of food. salty would be good too since it can take care of any bacteria lying around in there. I'd say go for the good ol chicken noodle soup. Can never go wrong with that.

soft-scrambled eggs,spaghetti, soup, mashed potatoes w/gravy,
jello, yogourt, biscuits, macaroni & cheese, noodles w sauce,
cream corn, scrambled sausage meat w/ rice,
You know, you could eat just about anything. All you need to do
is focus on where you chew. Use your front teeth. Rinse mouth
when finished.
