You might try your local Radio Shack or other places that sell scanners. They sometimes have lists for the local police, fire and rescue units -- even the state troopers -- for their own use, and some are willing to share them. Googling for them would be worth a try, too. But I'd be specific about which departments you're looking for because some codes will vary from agency to agency.

Usually, the county codes are different from city codes. Same thing with your states highway patrol 10-codes. The easiest way to find out your area's 10-codes, go online and type in your county or city's frequencies....be sure to type in frequencies, and then sometimes it will pull up that states's or city's or county's 10-codes. hope that helps...good luck Or you can put state, city, and county plus 10-codes.....such as portland, or 10 codes

Any CB radio magazine, amature radio website will list them.
But if you are in the UK, they have a new digital network, and your analogue scanner will do you no good anymore.
Gone are the days of laughing at thier high speed pursuits....

some vary from state to state...go to borders they have a book that has all police codes....also anarchist cook-book if I recall list these code..
