My friend, who is divorced is dating her long time friend who happened to be her sister-in-law's(her ex husband's sister) ex-boyfriend. (they broke up about 4 years ago but supposed to be her best boyfriend she ever had). What do you think of this? I feel its perfectly fine for her to date him but she doesn't because he used to dated her sister in law and she might get upset.

She shouldnt care what people think. I know thats harsh but people that end up together in not so normal situations end up having better relationships than those in average couples as well as a tighter bond because they have to face issues alone just about being together...
She better be with him and be happy...she aint in her ex hubby's family anymore so who cares anyway!
best wishes to them

Anyone who would get upset because someone else is dating an ex from 4 years ago is an idiot. I would not care what the ex sister-in-law thinks.

If they broke up, I don't see a reason they can't date. Her sister in law has moved on, yes? They don't have any kids together? If they don't, then your g/f is fine dating this person.

Good luck! Tell her we said, "You go girl!"

I say leave the past in the past. If it was my blood sister it would be different, you have to face her for the rest of your life. Being that it was the sister of her ex-husband, I don't really see a problem.

If she is happy and he is happy then everyone else can just get with the program!!

If she doesn't have a relationship with the sister in law, then why would she care. They have been over for years. But it can be a very sticky situation.
