sometimes, if it catches their eyes, and they don't like what they see- so they criticise them-- could be that they didn't have anything to do and bored but talk **** about other people's flaws, or they wanna feel good about themself so they look for other's defect.

Can you say 'j e a l o u s y' ? Insecurity means you are fretting about your own position in life, but when you hate (strong word!) someone else because they have looks, fame and/or money, that's a whole different ballgame.
The sad part of it is that most people have some area(s) in which they shine but too often don't recognize their good points, or think they are bragging. No so! We all deserve an occasional pat on the back, even if we have to give it to ourselves. And for that matter, if you can reach around and pat your own back, then you can be proud of your agility....

Actually, it's called jalousy.

Envy = you want what the other person has, but you are happy for them

Jalousy = you want what the other person has and you are not happy for them

When a person is unatractive or has a bad personality trait, we tend to "hate" other people who are like us, because we see them in us.

Insecurity will often give light to hatred when we see other people in possesion of something we want. We don't really appreciate what we have, rather, we dwell on the things we don't, thus, we are not living for the moment, rather, we are living for a "what could be" moment.

Basically, the answer to your question is "yes".

Insecurity is only a part of it. It also is about how we were raised. If we were raised in a manner that we heard our parents judging others all of the time, then we learn to behave like that in our own lives.
It is more about jealousy, and predjudices than it is about insecurity.

I don't think they hate people that have more material stuff then they do....I think they're just jealous and that's a very human emotion.

Not necessarily...I really can't stand Paris Hilton...I am not jealous of her at all, I just find her extremely irritating and actually half brain dead.
