THEY ALWAYS MISS SOMEONE WHO WAS KIND TO THEM...AND GET HAPPIER TO SEE THEM AGAIN WHEN THEY RETURN.

If it's your dog why leave it with your ex, and how will you know if it's being taken care of properly sure the dog will miss you and wonder where you went and even though dogs have a short attention span they don't ever forget people, but try to keep in touch if it is really YOUR dog make sure your ex doesnt mistreat it just because it was yours and because theyre upset at you, it happens alot with children, it's better if you go back and get your dog. yes, and if your ex gets a new love the new love will hate your dog my dog went missing and till this day I don't want to know what happened to chico I loved my dog and after 10 years I still wake up crying missing him

unless you have beat the dog or did something wrong to it yes it will miss you. but then it will get used to just your ex being there. believe me i'm living with my boyfriend and he's ex's pit
