Whenever i'm doing hand work, hitting a heavy bag or whatnot, my hands begin to hurt. I come from a family of boxers (I'm a martial artist) and they tell me i have "***** hands" and i'll just have to live with it. Is there any way to strengthen my hands' pain threshold?

Brads right, are you wrapping your hands correctly? Are the wraps that you are wearing long enough? Are they too short? When I wrap my hands I also have to use athletic tape, if I don't my hands actually throb as I'm hitting the bag. Try taping in between your fingers first with strips of tape maybe a 1/4 inch thick and 4 inches long, put the three strips between each one of your fingers, then using complete strips of tape go around your knuckles 3 to 4 times, snug but not tight wrap your wrist the same way and see how that feels. If your problems still persist then maybe you should see a Doctor or Orthopedic Surgeon, maybe you broke a bone in the past that didn't heal properly or you didn't give it enough time to heal, hopefully the tape helps. Good luck p m .
