I think that it's very important. People get an impression of you from the way you look, dress, behave, and speak. I think that the average vocabulary size is decreasing, as people use computers more and read less.

Average vocabulary is decreasing. People can't even spell anymore. A large vocabulary with proper grammer not only allows you to communicate with a diverse range of people, it helps you to be understood. The goal of communication is to get thoughts and ideas across. The more tools "words" you have at your disposal the more effective one becomes in communicating. The more words you have for a thought or idea the richer your world becomes. The sunset was red. OR. The sun slithered lower in all her glory, first yellow, then orange. As she dipped her self into the ocean and drew one last breath she blushed crimson, yet she had no shame. Words can create pictures and feelings.

Yes I think grammar is important, especially as you advance in the work place. Why? Because I don't care to listen to anyones opinion who does not even care to speak to me using correct grammar. It is a lack of respect. (I am talking about educated people, not young children or handicapped people)
I think the average vocabulary is decreasing. Look at the SAT prep classes. They seem to have to prep people on very simple vocabulary now.

Yes, having a good Grammar is important, because grammar and spelling is how everyone else beside you know what you mean when you write something.
Besides, it is very irritating to see how many people can't write in their mother tongue properly.

I've always found that the promulgation of esoteric cogitation or the articulation of superficial sentimentality invariably allows one's statements to possesses a clarified conciseness, otherwise they congeal themselves into a heterogeneous mass of invortex diction.
