Pork in itself is as harmless to dogs as chicken, beef or any other meat. However, there is a slight risk of your dog being infected with trichinosis by eating pork. Trichinosis, also known as trichinellosis, is a worldwide, food borne disease caused by an intestinal roundworm, uncommon in the United States. Both humans and pets who eat raw or undercooked meat of infected animals can develop the disease. Undercooked or raw meat of infected animals contains the roundworm. The disease can lead to muscle soreness and pain together with swelling of the upper eyelids in mild cases but can lead to more severe symptoms.

If you would like to feed pork but want to take all necessary precautions, it is recommended that the pork be frozen for 3 weeks to kill the parasite. http://www.petpeoplesplace.com/resources/advice/dogs/41.htm

I feed the raw diet and my dogs get pork, chicken, beef, venison and etc. They are healthy as they can be.

I have never heard of a dog turning on anyone because they ate pork. However, just like for you, it is the same for the dog, pork must be cooked throughly before serving. Pork has a type of worm that it carries that can work its way into the brain of an animal causing all kinds of problems (maybe even aggression), so please cook it very well and enjoy.

Good Luck

Apprently you shouldn't feed dogs pork which is why you never find pork flavour dog food. It's odd though because you can buy pigs ears, knuckle bones etc in most pet shops for them to chew on. We always give our dog the left over pork from the sunday joint and he loves it. I did give him a venison bone once from the butchers and he was sick as a .....dog!

That's a load of crap.

How does your dog know what you taste like.
I eat pork but not human flesh.

Pork can give some dogs an upset stomach.

Not strictly true. Nobody should ever eat RAW pork because it harvests worm larvae. It should be cooked right through first.

In my experience too many bones of any variety causes constipation in my boy! (and the wind whewww) lol.

Feed away, not too much liver though once a month if you are inclined though

My dog has a little taste of every meat, as a treat, once in a while.

Her main daily diet is 'complete' dried dog food, which keeps her healthy.

The only things I take very seriously about feeding animals, are:

You can give a cat dog food, but NEVER give a dog cat food, it's seriously bad for them.

Aspirin is lethal to a dog... and sometimes, so can giving chocolate be deadly!

A well-trained dog makes everyone happy, including his owner. Take a little time training him, and you'll never regret it; you'll always have an obedient dog by your side. Find more https://tr.im/xSjHF

By their nature, dogs are pack animals with a well-defined social order. Through basic training, you need to consistently make sure your puppy understands that you are the leader, not him. So in teaching him the basic rules, you take on the role of pack leader.

To fit into the family circle, your dog must be taught to recognize his name and such commands as come, heel, lie down and sit.
