Yes, people are living much longer these days in fact the worlds oldest person just died a few days ago at 116 yrs old. From my perspective would interpret the question in this way: We humans can be almost considered a virus. We search for cures and conveniences to make our daily existence better but what was destroyed, wasted or even harmed to get to level of comfort? Plus do we care how it long is last? I believe we are here and alive to provided for the next generation, that's why we reproduce. Yet, or live styles can only agree to a point. When we consider our actions how far in time do we really consider?

No, we will not be the death of us. Nothing is forever, that's it. Human kind will find a way to survive anything. The meteor theory is old. We should have died 1,000 years ago. I think that no matter what, wars, pollution, overpopulation, diseases, plagues, radiation, etc. Humans will outlive it. There might and WILL be many deaths, but nothing will ever wipe us out as a whole.
