Well, you should construct and intake system for the pump. You can either tether a floating intake, or you can build an intake in the bank of the river. Need to consider how you will keep debris from river out of pump suction and what size you will screen out for pump. Then you can add the pumps you want to use, matching both the NPSH and discharge head needs with your design. Then you need to decide if you will do any post pumping filtering to keep from clogging the orifice in your irrigation system.
