It's your civic duty to overthrow an oppressive government by whatever means necessary. If you stand by and do nothing while your country abandons all that it once held dear, then you're facilitating your own oppression. And since the US is by far the most powerful nation in the world you're potentially facilitating the oppression of pretty much everyone.
I'd help out but I live in Australia, so it's not really convenient for me.

I do not agree....for several reasons..
1. Saddam was a threat....did we find any weapons, no, however he has had and used them before, on his own people may I add, and what is to say that he could not get them again. I am glad we don't have to find out. Also, he had how much time, while the UN was making threats and not following through to get the WMD out of the country.
2. With as many people who hate this country right now and would look for any excuse to destroy us, now is not the time to split up and make ourselves even more vunerable.
3. I don't agree with everything that the government does but that is a right I have, and I don't have to worry about getting jailed and tortured for saying so.
4. The government makes decisions based on more information that you or I will ever have. We as a people just need to learn to accept that we don't know everything, no matter how many news articles and stories we see.
5. My final thought, do you really beleive that all the Pres. and politicians that started the system of gov we have know were perfect. I would bet that the system was corrupt then also, however back then communication was not what it is today so now more people are seeing the bad and not just the good....and I know that even if we started over, the people will be just the same,
POWER CORRUPTS, ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTLY.

You go and have a Revolution and who knows what will happen to your Constitutional rights? You could end up with the equivalent of an Ayatollah who rules for life. And you could have anyone that disagrees with the ruling body gets taken out and shot. Go talk to those who lived under the Taliban.
The Revolutionary War was fought against Great Britain over taxation without representation.
Well you now know that taxation WITH representation isn't so hot either. As far as you NEW revolution goes. The idea inhales. Every two years we are given a chance to elect new reresentatives to the House, every four we can get a new President, and every sixth year you can change Senators. If you can get enough people to agree with your choice change can come without having a shot fired.
You want to get your way? Well this is a democratic republic. If you want to operate like some insurgent in Iraq, don't expect to last long. Not here in the US. I've already defended this country for 22 years. You start something and I'll do it some more.

There is no consensus in the United States at this time. If there were a war it would be a free for all with many different factions. In short, it might start as a war against the government, but it would end up a civil war based on political and racial beliefs.
As to Iraq and WMDs I am so sick of having to post this, but I cannot stand people calling others liars based on lies of their own. WMDs were found in Iraq. Shells containing Sarin and Mustard gas were found, these are WMDs, and were according to Saddam Hussein destroyed long before. Now I know that there is a contention that these shells were unusable in their present form. If you wish to debate that fact fine, but they are WMDs, and they were found in Iraq. Please get your facts straight before accusing others of being liars.

Hey you like this whole freedom of speech thing. What would we replace the government we have now with? Communism? This government is still the best in the world. No where else could you have even asked this question in a public format. Sure we have our problems. I still love the quote, "Love it or leave it." Maybe you should consider. Why don't you read a book on what really happened in Iraq by the simple soldiers who were there, try "Shooter" for example, you can get it at Barnes and Noble.

While I sympathize with you in the spirit to take up arms against what you see as a threat to America, we disagree with who is actually the enemy to America.
(BTW, I've never known of a politician that didn't deserve to die for the good of his country!)
That said, the "Right-wing" and "Conservatives" in this country are better armed and in many ways better prepared to fight an armed 'event' than all the Liberals, Police and National Guard put together. Given that 80% of the police and military would side with the right in such a scenario, what you would have is a slaughter of you Leftist Anti-American Communist.
Come to think of it, such an event, while painful, would serve as sort of a purification of our country. So by all means start it!

Hey stupid, you do know that until Bush invaded Iraq even Hillary and John Kerry were whining about Saddam having WMD and that we needed to do something. Funny how the morons on the left forgot all about that.

Go right ahead and organize your revolution. If the government doesn't arrest you and throw your asses in jail, because it is against the law to even plan a revolution, then you will be introduced to the U.S. Military and I am afraid you won't be any happier then than you are now with all of this idiotic babble you are thinking and spreading around..........

We don't need a revolutionary war. We just need a political revolt. Now is the time for a good sound third party to step forward.
