There are lots of men that also don't like pubs, clubs etc.
Try and work on your shyness to flirt a little more. Maybe practise in an environment that works for you ever tried partner dance, salsa, jive, ballroom !!! Otherwise do whatever it takes to get yourself out of your shyness, read books, go on self development courses etc, this could have benefits right across your whole life.
I've tried Internet dating before and it hasn't worked for me (I know it has worked for others very successfully, but it did get me in tune for when somebody special came along. I was practised at the dating game so it was easier.
Then work out where all the men go when they're not in pubs and clubs and hang out. Try and get (or make new ..if all your friends are fixed up) a couple of single platonic friends (especially female) to be your accomplices.
Are you sporty, tried golf !! Volunteering ! DIY evening courses !! the list is endless.
Good luck.. the key is consistent ACTION !!!! If you find this difficult then remember how important this is to you. Prob one of the most important things ...right.....then what are you waiting for ...DO SOMETHING NOW !!

I hope you are talking about the Devon in Chicago. If yes that means you have not made any effort at all. By the time you enter about 4 stores or shops on that street in a day I am pretty sure 3 to 4 men will pick you up. Devon is a very busy place for everybody

Well, being quite a rural area, the pub is generally the social hub! Do you live in one of the bigger towns? If so, I know this sounds crap, but do something new. Take an evening class (you can do just about anything) volunteer at a charity shop, join a gym, take advanced driving lessons, anything. Don't go looking for dates, but doing new things opens up new circles of friends, people who know people, and you'll meet people you would not normally.
