Coupons are only taboo on first dates. After that she knows you some, and coupons show you know the value of money and how to be thrifty.

No. She should understand. However you can take the money you are saving and apply it elsewhere for your date. Take her somewhere she has never been (carriage ride, concert, play, etc.). tell her that you had to use the 2 for 1 coupons because the rest of your money went to something special for her. Don't tell her what it is, just tell her that you will be going there later.

I dont think that would give a good impression on the first date...maybe if you guys hit it off and then go on a second one yeah...but i would be embarrased on my first date, he has to pay with coupons!

I would feel flattered that you wanted to use your coupons or gift certificates on me! All these people that say it's wrong, don't do it, they won't like you, etc., are stupid and don't know what they are talking about. Besides, if someone really likes you they won't care. Plus its kinda funny.

I see no problem with it if is not your first date or within the first month or so of dating. After dating for awhile I believe it is okay.
The first month or so it my make you look cheap but after being with someone awhile, they should look at you as just being conservative and money consious.

Yes you can, but do not let the date see it (it's kinda faux pau) Order, then go to the restroom, find your waiter and hand him the coupon and ask him to be hush-hush about it.

I think it is totally fine - I know it can be considered "unsexy" but it is smart. If she's turned off by it then she's probably not for you. If you want to play it safe, pay the bill when she's not around and/or use the $$ you'd save & buy her flowers.

Question: If you discount your date, will you shortchange the relationship, too?
Hmmmmmmmmmm.
Deep thought.
