I have always heard that the alcohol that anyone likes is the best to use. In taste tests most people failed to find the most expensive vodka. I myself like many types there is Grey Goose, Stoli, even some of the store brands out there are quite nice. Hope it helped.

I would go with Smirnoff. Once you get past the bar pours or well liquors Vodkas are all the same. There have been several blind studies done where smirnoff was the top pick against brands like Grey Goose, Skyy and Absolut. So unless you want to look cool by having a high-end bottle, skip it.

None. A true martini has gin (and a dash of vermouth), never vodka. If it has vodka, it's a "vodka martini", "vodkatini" or a "kangaroo". But for god sakes, don't call it a martini.

And unless your name is James Bond, only giant choads drink vodka martinis.

The best gin for a martini is Tanqueray, or... (arguably) Bombay Saphire.

Grey Goose is known for being a good, smooth vodka, but if you're tight in the wallet it's probably not the way to go since it costs significantly more when compared to other vodkas.

russian and polish vodka.
But I use absolut vodka sometimes and it does pretty good.
(which is swedish).
But keep in mind that the most expensive polish vodka will give you the best results.

Keep shaking them :)

I have used many..but have a preference for Gray Goose. But mainly Abs. is good. It depends on your taste and $. GG tends to be more depending on the size of the bottle and where you are.

Shakers (Wheat and Rye.) Distilled 6 times. Very smooth and you can't tell if you are buzzing until the 8th drink and you are lying on the floor. Drink in moderation!
