I used to have this same problem. Now I just look in the freezer and take out something to defrost. If I can't think of what to do with the stuff, I go to the computer and either google chicken recipes, fish recipes or steak, beef, pork recipes. One of my favorites is recipe.com. It's more fun than going through tons of recipe books. On your free time, check out recipe sites and add those to your favorites list for future recipe searches. If I can't find anything recipes that tickles my fancy, I just tell my husband that I'm not cooking and we're eating out!

You have to pay a small fee, but try savingdinner.com. You get a different recipe for each day, and a pre-made shopping list.
The recipes turn out really good, too!

Epicurious.com is a great site for recipes. You can just type in the ingredients that you have lying around to kitchen to see if they have any recipes for them.
They also have a lot of content if you want to learn about food related topics.

One of my favorite sites is foodnetwork.com. Not only do they have recipes but they also have menu ideas for the entire meal.
Also womans day and family circle have menus for an entire month too.

There's actually a site called Recipes.com. Just type whatever you want to cook in your search bar, and there will several recipe sites pop up. I do this all the time.
