Latter-day revelations speak of hell in at least two ways. First, it is another name for spirit prison, a place in the postmortal spirit world for those who have “died in their sins, without a knowledge of the truth, or in transgression, having rejected the prophets” (D&C 138:32). This is a temporary state in which spirits will be taught the gospel and have the opportunity to repent and accept ordinances of salvation that are performed for them in temples (see D&C 138:30–35). Those who accept the gospel may dwell in paradise until the Resurrection. After they are resurrected and judged, they will receive the degree of glory of which they are worthy. Those who choose not to repent but who are not sons of perdition will remain in spirit prison until the end of the Millennium, when they will be freed from hell and punishment and be resurrected to a telestial glory (see D&C 76:81–85).

Second, the word hell is used to refer to outer darkness, which is the dwelling place of the devil, his angels, and the sons of perdition (see D&C 29:36–38; D&C 76:28–33). Sons of perdition are those who receive “no forgiveness in this world nor in the world to come—having denied the Holy Spirit after having received it, and having denied the Only Begotten Son of the Father, having crucified him unto themselves and put him to an open shame” (D&C 76:34–35; see also D&C 76:31–33, D&C 76:36–37). Such individuals will not inherit a place in any kingdom of glory; for them the conditions of hell remain (see D&C 76:38; D&C 88:24, D&C 88:32).

Hi Ashley,
I had a question that I placed on this site. I did get a answer. Then I started reading some of the questions others had asked on this site and surprised, but smiled to see that so many do not know about JESUS CHRIST, RELIGION or SPIRITUALITY.
I am a born again christian and I love the LORD OUR GOD.
I have great hopes to answer your questions and all others.
Now to your questions. Yes satan is a fallen angel. What will hell be like. Ashley hell will be earth only it will be a desolate land. There will also be a lake of fire and brimstone which is where those who refused to believe in the son Jesus Christ and except him as Lord and Savior of their life. God wants us to except him and know that he is God and without him we are nothing and can do nothing. Hell is not what God wants for us. He wants what best for us. Read the book of Revelations and learn more about the last days and hell. I suggest that you read a little at a time and ask my self or your pastor any questions, because the book of Revelations has lots of symbolism to represent things.
Trust me Ashley Hell being the lake of fire and brimston. Imagine a Cole burning stove (heat) 10,000 times hotter then what fire can be. a Volcano 10,000 times hotter. Again only torture of burning flesh. Ashley I hope I answered your questions . I would like to talk to you more . I believe that all should know God and all about him.

Fire is used to describe Hell because being burned by fire is very painful and the pain lasts for a long time after the burn.

Hell is not a place. It is a state of existence for teh soul. Hell is an eternal existence without God. God is love. An existence without God would be one in which there is no mercy, love, compassion, joy, kindness, or hope and no possibility for any of these things.

The late Pope John Paul II gave a very good address on teh nature of Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory. You may be surprised by some of the things he said. You can find the addresses at http://www.ewtn.com/library/PAPALDOC/JP2HEAVN.HTM

cintact me if you have any questions or wish to discuss.

Yes he was an angel a long time ago.
Read the Bible to find out Personally I dont need to know too much about hell but the word in greek means death or ceasing to exist Fires do burn out eventually you know.
Baptism is by water to be born again when you accept God
Im glad youre listening instead of fools who wont even open their minds at all. You have to be born again to totally understand
Jesus said I will send the Comforter so you will know all things at least as much as we can understand right now....

Hell is bad place reserved for Satan and his angels. It also happens to be the dwelling place for evil human spirts. Being baptized in Holy Spirit "fire" is symbolic of God like fire burning junk(sin) out of your spirit. Do you need the "fire" of God to burn junk out of your life? Note: Satan is an fallen angel. He rebelled against God and was cast down from Heaven.

The only hells that exist are the ones we inflict upon ourselves. Sometimes other beings may have influence over our state of being but overall we have freewill and can at anytime grow closer or farther away from God. In conclusion there are no permanent hells or heavens for that matter only our free will that may use itself as a rutter to steer itself back into the light that is God.

The fires and tortures of hell are quite different than the fire of the Holy Spirit. You need to get a concordance and read up on your own bible and seek answers (or don't you have one?)

well before u can decipher the tortures (which no one can say for sure) u must ask yourself whether heaven/hell are physical places or spiritual. if physical then we should be able to travel there if technology would allow. (so eventually we'd be able to visit this physical realm). if its spiritual, then i dont believe you can be physically harmed/tortured without a physical body and physical environment. leaving you left with only emotionally tortured. (that is unless you believe in a multi-verse, where we leave this "verse" and go to a seperate one with a new body then i suppose we could be physically tortured there). but thats all assuming they both exist.

Luke 16:22 "Now it came about that the poor man died and he was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried.
Luke 16:23 "And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw^ Abraham far away, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Luke 16:24 "And he cried out and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue; for I am in agony in this flame.'
Luke 16:25 "But Abraham said, 'Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony.
Luke 16:26 'And besides all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, in order that those who wish to come over from here to you may not be able, and that none may cross over from there to us.'

This is a description. Said by Jesus Himself.

read the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures and it tells you Gehenna (ie Hell) was a garbage dump for dead bodies not a place of eternal torment.

god was baptised with blood.
