There are many reasons for on line dating. Rejection on line is less and when it does occur it is not as painful. One can be a tease and have fun without the consequences, it can help pass the time when one is bored. One can fantasize about meeting and what the other person really looks like. It helps with interpersonal skills in communication, even though some (or all) of that information may be false. A person can be who they want to be on line and others' negative opinions don't have the sting that one on one confrontations have. You can practice your pick-up line so you can have more success when approaching the opposite gender in real life. It can be a head game where you either learn who you are or you become closed off and withdrawn into the cyberspace void. It's easy to not get emotional on the net or have relationship ties.

because about 10x more girls go dating online rather than out on the streets. and also poeple from all over the world go on and they are able to post false info about themselves rather than in real life, u notive those personalities about them, online, u just read about them and u never know if it is true or not and sometimes if u ask to meet them, they could realize that the info they gave u was not right and they are afraid that u can find out so they stop talkin to u. but the reason why poeple do dating websites is because they want to fool around but u never can tell

It's easy because you don't have to look at each other's ugly faces. So you like her and she likes you when in real life, in person, you wouldn't hit on each other.
