I have been around hypochondriacs all my life, mainly a family member. But, I never knew there was someone out there worse than he is. This person goes to the doctor for the smallest issues. If they had the slightest pain, they would go. When their kids get a touch of a cold, they run them to the emergency room, instead of using home remedies. Once, her son was in the hospital for a week(the doctor wanted to release him after a two days, but she threw a fit about it). Well, after the son got out of the hospital, the same night it was snowing and she let him go outside with wet hair. Could this persons hypochondria, be turning into Munchausen Syndrom as well? And wondering if anyone out there has gone through this.

Doesn't sound like a Munchauesen by proxy yet from what you describe.

Just sounds like a dumb woman who makes bad choices.

She's evidently getting plenty of help. Just nobody is looking at the big picture.

Someone will.

Sounds like it could be Munchausen Syndrome.
Keep a very close eye on this, and call the authorities.
Kids shouldn't be out in the cold after being released from the hospital that very same day.

It really sounds bad I think your suspicions could be right . I would have to do something if I were you . I'd call the authorities have them check her before she really hurts someone . If it is not true I wouldn't worry you are still doing the right thing . Better safe children than grief later .

That definately sounds like what it is. I had an aunt who did the same thing. She went to the hospital all the time, and made herself sick. Funny thing was, she actually did get really sick, ended up dieing in the hospital.

This person suffers from severe ocd, and it has manifested itself into fear of illness....it is real as real can be for this person...I don't think that it is turning into the latter,...but it can appear that way...She needs to find out that she is going to destroy her son if she doesn't stop it...someone needs to let her know that....before someone takes him away..and it would destroy her..I feel really bad for her...but she needs some medication to help control it...poor thing. and she is doing this out of love, sadly..
