Sure...IF YOU WANT TO DIE!

2006-08-31 05:18:17 · answer #1 · answered by KIMBO 4 · 1 4

I did a 30 day juice fast and lost 30 pounds. There is a great web site on fasting. It helped me understand what your body goes through and what to expect. The web site is FREEDOMYOU.COM. A 10 water fast and a thirty day juice fast will show the same results. The water fast is a bit harder to do, so go for the juice fast. You must change your eating habits after you fast because if you go back to your old eating habits most of the weight will come back. READ THE ENTIRE WEB SITE AND AND THEN GIVE IT A LOT OF THOUGHT. IT TAKES A LOT OF WILL POWER, BUT I NEVER FELT AS GOOD AS WHEN I WAS ON MY JUICE FAST. THE FIRST 2 DAYS ARE THE WORST. GOOD LUCK

The answer to your question is , you will come close. I am sure that is the answer you wanted to hear as well. The part you will not want to hear is, that even if you had the will power to not eat for all that time, all you will achieve is a very short lived weight loss, resulting a massive reduction of lean muscle mass (a major aspect in a increased metabolic rate). This is simple reality and can not be changed. Humans have remained alive as a species for a very long time, surviving countless famines for a reason, our body has a very good way of keeping alive when little or no food is available. It is called starvation mode. Like having very little money, the body budgets energy. Fat is your savings, and has to last the duration of the famine. Within as little as 2 days your body goes into budget mode. First to go is not fat, as this will keep you alive. Muscles use a lot of energy while you are doing nothing. High lean muscle mass will result in far larger amounts of calories being used just doing nothing. Because of this muscle is a very easy savings. Eat the muscle, and then you require less energy to live. Once all the muscle is gone, the body will have to use its fat supplies, however if you eat while your body is in starvation mode, which you will do at some stage, your body will retain almost all energy to fat. It believes you are going to dye unless you save every ounce of fat. By the time you get back to eating a healthy amount of food, breaking the famine mode, you have gained more weight, making you fatter than when you started, but also resulting in reduced muscle, meaning you metabolic rate has slowed and if you eat at the same level before the diet, you will continue to gain weight at an even faster rate. Take the time to understand Basic metabolic rates, Starvation mode, energy balances and even a simple Google search on healthy weight loss. THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES. Healthy diet with a reduction of 500 calories per day for food (no soda or only diet and no serving of ice cream) and 500 calories expenditure doing exercise (40 minutes at the gym running), coupled with choosing lean, whole foods, and eating 6 smaller meals spaced every 3 hours apart will result in sound weight loss. Remember this please. These companies are preying on misunderstanding.

No... you have to burn over 3000 calories more than you eat to lose a pound of bodyweight and most of us only burn 2,000 calories a day. Plus you will be in starvation mode and your metabolism will slow down. On the water diet you could probably only lose 15lbs in the month and by that time you would also be quite ill.

Neither option is very healthy, but if you want a safer alternative try eating only tuna & water for a week. After the week is up add in some vegetables and stuff. The pounds will start to tumble, the weight loss won't be restricted to fat though, you will also lose quite a bit of muscle.

You will so regret this if you do it. I'm serious.

Do.Not.Do.This.

You will end up getting fatter later on because of this. Why? Because when you starve yourself like this, your body never knows when it's getting anything to eat, so when you DO eat something, it stores EVERY bit of fat in the things you eat because it doesn't know if you'll ever eat again. So, what might burn off of someone that eats 5 small meals a day, will latch onto your stomach, butt, and thighs immediately if you do something like this. Sure, you would lose weight during the 30 days, however, when you started eating again, you would get fatter, quicker, and you would feel miserable.

Please don't fast for a month; instead, why not eliminate all animal-derived products from your diet? No meat, fish, fowl or dairy. Eat lots of veggies, fruit, and water. You will feel so much better.
