If swelling occurs you may need to see a doctor. If you do not have an extreme amount of swelling, you can keep a cold compress on it for a long while. This will discourage swelling. The major concern is HOW close to the eye ball did it occur and will it impact or effect you eye and vision. If vision is OK and the eye feels OK, no pain in the eye ball, etc, no swelling in the eye, etc, you are probably OK. If you have any DOUBT about the eyeball...go straight to the ER NOW.

DO NOT USE TOBACCO JUICE. i've never even heard of that til earlier today. I'm a teacher and we just had an inservice for first aid. He said some people use tobacco juice as a home remedy, but that's one of the one's that makes it worse....if it swells more than a normal sting or gets more red, go to the ER....also, if it's warm when you touch it or puss is coming out, go to the ER
as long as there is no alergic reaction or infection, it should heal itself
