Ninjas, do (did) they exist? I really don't care, but here is my question. the title of ninja. If they ever did exist was this title given to anyone who studied ninjistu, was it only given to teh masters, or only given to those who have killed (as part of a mission given to the ninja clan of whatever)? that is my question.

Ok so what your telling me is that all but silence just saw the word ninja in the title and wrote whatever you felt like writing without even bothering reading what was written?? nice!

Finally, an intelligent ninja question. Unfortunately I do not have solid info on this. I do know the title carried a certain level of dishonor with it and the Japanese culture greatly revered honor.
Also, ninja kept their identity a secret at all costs.
As such I feel that ninja was not a title, they did not refer to themselves as ninja as talking about it was forbidden. I am sure they did not call each other ninja either. Most likely ninja was a word used to refer to assassins, spy's and thieves in third person.

Yeah man, they did...but did they blatantly advertise this as such?

I'd say no.

If you want some serious answers....why don't you contact a professional on the subject?

I've been a student of Ninpo Taijutsu for 10 + years....and I could give you all the facts and figures when it comes to their combat
techniques as well as some basic historical aspects of lifestyle and life-habits of the times...

Here's the thing though, NO ONE ALIVE TODAY lived during the times of medieval Japan.....so no one can give you the aformentioned facts and historical views that you want.

Why don't you fly to Tokyo, and find the Bujinkan Honbu Dojo....considering Soke Hatsumi is the world's prevelant expert on Ninjutsu in this modern age. He's the only legitimate instructor on the subject/combat arts/history there is today.

So if you really want the answer....fork out a couple grand, get a plane ticket and fly to Japan. Though, don't be shocked if your question is simply met with a smile, a laugh, and an invitation to train in the school of hard knocks to get your answers.

Yes the did exist. Very little is known about those who were labled with the tittle of ninja. There was a final test before one was allowed to become a full ninja, accepting contracts of work. It is logical to assume that at the point of passing the final exam in an entire early life of training, one would finally be called a ninja in truth.

real ninjas were just types of assasins in fuedal Japan. You could dress up as a ninja and run around and be called a ninja by some (but a bad one).

Well I don't know if "ninja's" exist anymore. It was said that they had ninja clan back in the warlord days. Nowadays we have ninjustu which is the study of the ninja way and how they fight. Kinda like the most recent Batman movie, they were doing ninjustu.

they did exist.this title was given to the students in ninjitsu by their master when he considered they were good enough.some of them became assassins in the name of the shogun.
they still exist in Japan but they are not assassins anymore.in other countries many people practice ninjitsu but they are not called ninja.

The were hired assassins in Japanese history. The modern day view of the ninja is based on fiction though, they were in no way as honourable as they are thought to have been, being close to petty thieves or simply cheap hitmen.

Put it this way... if you ever find out the answer to that question, you might find yourself surrounded by ninjas. (the purple ones) And, even if you COULD defeat them, that fabled "White Ninja" WILL show up to kick you around a bit before swiftly killing you. Trust me... I KNOW!

Yes they use to exist. They probably don't really care about title. It's basically like being born in military special force. Once you join the military, you're basically in the military.

ninjas were in no way honorable... if you met someone who would do anything to get what he wanted lies deception tricks and traps, does that sound honorable?

in my opinion anyone can mimic a ninja.
