That is how the other bums get unemployment. They work 3 hours every few months and live off unemployment. Just kidding. They are probably hard working people just like you that happened to fall into bad times. Even if someone else is using "your money," you would use someone else's when your time comes.

It depends on what state you live in, but generally it goes to someone else who files a claim. You don't get a refund when you retire or anything. All the money goes into an "account" and it is distributed to those filing claims.

It's a government insurance program, and the employer is the one who pays into it . . . it goes to pay unemployment benefits for the people who put in claims for it.

Hi, It seems to me that employees don't pay unemployment insurance, the employer does. It is so if you are laid off or the business closes you can collect until you find another job. I know when I closed my business that I told my employees to get down and sign up. I had been paying into it and it was theirs since I had to shut down.

It goes to some else's unemployment. Be gald if you never have to use it but realzie that lazy bumb that won't go out andf find a job is living off your pay.

Actually, you are not paying into the same fund that pays unemployment claims. Check with your HR dept, they will explain it to you.

It goes into a large bankk account and gets withdrawn by the people that do file a claim. You snooze, you lose.

To all the people who do file claims - other goverment programs. Its just like auto insurance, if you need it, its there, if not - it goes into outer space

It goes to pay OTHER people's claims. That's how all insurance works. You pay into it in case something happens; if nothing happens, you've paid for nothing but your peace of mind, which is the whole point.
