Could be your appendix, that is the area where the appendix is located. Many times when another organ is inflamed, like your gall bladder, it gets the appendix all riled up and inflamed too. I assume you had the 'band-aid' surgery to remove the gall bladder. I doubt they even looked 'down' to see what else was going on in the abdomen while they had the laparoscope inserted to get the gall bladder. (You know, the camera they use to see what they are doing when they do these surgeries).
I feel like this is your appendix because of the location of the pain. The only other explanation is that you have an adhesion from surgery but that would be a dull pain. Appendix pain is usually sharp and will suddenly get bad and then better again, leaving the site you described sore afterward.
There can be chronic appendicitis that lasts indefinitely.

I'd be moving that appt up sooner. If it was appendicitis, don't think it would last 6 months, same for an infection I would assume. Tell them to do an ultrasound, seriously, maybe they left something in there when they did the surgery a sponge or something? It happens.

Since it has been going on for 6 months I would visit your doctor. It could be anything from (not likely appendicitis) a hernia, adhesions or something even more serious.

This sounds silly, but jump up and down. If the pain is excruciating, you have appendicitis. If you can jump with little or no pain, that's not appendicitis. And ... if it were appendicitis it wouldn't last six months, it would have burst by now.

I'm going with either appendicitis OR
a hiatal hernia/acid reflux...that can be VERRRRY painful and in that area as described.
But if its your appendix...dude, get to the emergency room, you can die if it bursts.
