I had braces as a child and had to have 4 teeth pulled. No big deal at all. It is just to make room for your other teeth to move and straighten out. You won't feel it because they will numb your mouth first, so don't worry. I never had any problems with my braces other than just getting used to them, which didn't take long. Just be careful about what you eat. Don't eat things like hard candy or stuff that could damage the wires. If that happens it is no big deal to have the orthodontist fix it, but you don't want to have to do that too often. The result is a beautiful smile that will be worth it all!

OK, I'm an expert at this because I got 8 teeth pulled and my mom is a dentist. When your teeth are being pulled, it wont hurt because they give you novicaine. The only thing is that you can hear it and thats pretty creepy. Then, your gum is a little sore after the novicaine wears out and you bleed alot. I got to stay home from school for a day. =] Now, about braces, I never got them but I know that they hurt alot when first put on and tightened, and also they scrape up against you lips and cheeks so ask you dentist/ orthodontist for wax to put on them, sometimes they come in flavors like bubble gum, or sour patch kids! Good Luck and remember, in the end, you'll have a smile your proud to show!

When I had my wisdom teeth pulled, the dentist gave me some laughing gas to relax me. The worst part of the deal was the shots to numb the gums. Once that shot kicks in, you only feel pressure from him wiggling the tooth to loosen it. You should not feel ANY pain through the procedure. And he will give you really good pills for afterward. If during any part of the procedure you feel pain, let him know and he can give you another shot. If you're really nervous, some dentists have sedation dentistry where they give you a pill and you sleep through the whole extraction. Don't know anything about the braces. I never had them. Good luck!

Braces today are not like the old fashioned braces, you will see. Also, pulling teeth today, especially the amount your getting should require being knocked out. Dont worry, it wont be that bad., you will just go through an adjustment stage. Bye.

I had teeth pulled and I asked(demanded) "gas"...which actually made the experience kinda cool in a weird way. Felt like I was REALLY heavy and floating on a cloud and I tingled all over. It also made time seem like it was flickering by and I was obsessing about my Dentists nostrils. He had to crank on one pretty hard and almost had to put his knee on my chest at one point and I thought he looked hysterical. I must admit I felt like JUNK the next day and was sore as heck and my mouth tasted like BUTT. Would have been nice to get POSTteethpulling gas....Hmmmm Good Luck

when i was 9 i had perfectly str8 teeth (still do) but one of my baby molars was ready to come out, and it twisted on the inside and never came out, so the denist numbed it, and pulled it, out, no pain at all.
