Lol sorry for the highlight portion it almost seems like you are talking about something COMPLETELY different.
It doesnt sound too good, try WebMD.com or just set up a drs appointment. I think it depends on the pain and where she feels it is coming from exactly. But since its on the side its safe to say its not spine related and something that can probably get treated easily and safely back to normal.

Tell her to go get her kidney's checked out. Could be a kidney stone

she needs to be seen by a doctor..it sounds like she may have a herniated disc..this won't go away on its own..she is gonna need to be seen to get better...good luck with this..and God bless
