well square boxes are easier to make and cheaper! Round ones cost a lot and are more difficult to make... if you owned a company you want to do the most cost effencent way!
Plus if the box was round how would be able to grab the first peice! that extra little space with the square box just helps!
and somepeople put the extra side's in the empty spots next to the pizzA11
try not to lose any sleep of that agian!
Here is another question that will get you thinking and most likely not sleeping! sorry

Besides being easier to carry and stack, square boxes cost less to make. So even though a pizza place would not mind the extra effort on the pizza delivery guy carrying a round box, they do not want to cut into their profits by paying more for round boxes.

Well, lets see if I can help you get a good nights sleep. I thought about this for a while prior to your question. Then spoke to a friend of mine who designs boxes and she said to make a round box would not be cost efficient. The boxes are cheaper to make square. Once you think about it it makes sense you know? Even cake boxes are square, rarely do you see round boxes.

1. How would you get your pizza out of a round box?!
2. It would be expensive to produce
3. The boxes wouldn't stack neatly
4. Square boxes fold easier

It is hard to make boxes that are round. And it is hard to make pizzas square because of the dough tossing.
