When I began opening psychically many years ago, I was in a generally scared place in my life. I was young, pregnant, newly married, and living away from friends and family for the first time in my life. This was not a time one would wisely consciously choose to open psychically, but my awakening was spontaneous. I did have many undesirable and frightening experiences at that time. As I learned, however, and lost my fear, my experiences shifted, and I've not had a frightening experience since.
I also believe that fear is a symptom that we're stretching ourselves, and if the fear is uncomfortable, then we need to slow down a bit. Fear is like pain; if we're practicing yoga, and we experience pain, we need to slow down, back off, and relax a little. We go only so far as we are comfortable, stretching a little bit past what is easy, but moving with love and compassion for the self, and patience and faith that all is well, and will come in due time. When the time is right for moving forward, we will find our fears and nothing else can hold us back. A little fear I call excitement, and I embrace and work with that energy to learn and grow.
Key: When I first started being interested in the supernatural, I was full of fear from lack of knowledge and too many Sci-fi movies, but as I learned and experienced I came to the conclusion that fear is really all we have to fear! I have never had, nor "personally" known anyone who has had a harmful supernatural experience. I do ask for protection from God and I expect it (because I'm a big chicken!), but I truly came to the belief I could not fear if this was my path, as it is always changing and there is always the unknown to walk into. I find "trusting" in the powers that be and myself are all I need for protection. If at anytime I get the creepy crawlies and begin to fear, I wrap myself in white light, ask for extra protection, and that has kept me safe in all cases without fail. Additionally, I also am not stupid and do not open myself to what I do not know to be safe when possible. I find out first what I am walking into; I do not blindly leap. Over all, however, I have found nowhere in God's creation one cannot safely go if one is prepared.

Don't worry...you won't need a palm reader to tell you this or a psychic. You don't even need an EPT. If you are pregnant...you will find out for sure within a month or two and maybe sooner.
