Probably to get your attention.. your kitten has you well trained now!
I've had dozens of cats.. each has its own unique personality. One used to drink water by dipping its paw first then licking from his paw! Another, instead of purring, used to Drool to show affection! (yuck)
Sounds like your cat might be a Climber.. try getting one of those tall play sets, or even a tall book case.. I've had cats that really enjoy hanging around high places.

I got a new kitten a bit ago and she's the same way-or at least, she was. Now she's MUCH better. She wants attention--If you give her love and play with her for a long time, she'll be happy, sleepy, and realize that she doesn't have to keep meowing to get your attention. For some reason they think this...It can be annoying. Also, you want to pet her when she's not meowing to reinforce that you'll give her attention without having to meow--in fact, it's a reward for not meowing incessantly. It'll take a a bit of time to get her out of this phase. Some kittens do this more than others but it's common for them to quiet down a bit when they get older. Hopefully, this will help you. So far, it's worked for me.

Cats are extremely curious, if they see a speck of dirt on the ceiling they will nearly drive themselves insane with curosity and try to get whatever it is. I have 4 cats and when my cats meow at the ceiling, on closer inspection I always discover there is a bug or maybe a cobweb etc. they cant stand seeing something but not being able to check it out, if you want your cat to stop meowing at the ceiling get a chair and lift her up so she can see whats up there, then she wont be so consumed with curiosity anymore. Trust me, it works... if I dont do it sometimes my cats will literally try to climb the walls etc to get up there, I can assure you it isnt ghosts or esp of any kind, cats just have really good vision and can see things like tiny insects or cobweb strands that we dont even take notice of..

Do you have fire sprinklers in the ceiling or a beam? My 1 1/2 yr.old kitty is obsessed with them. She acts like she is gonna figure out how to get them one day. lol. Also do you have neighbors above you? Cats hearing is so good that she might be hearing them moving around up there even when you don't hear anything. Cute name by the way - Tallulah Bell!

Erm... my cat does that. When I look closely at the ceiling, I always find there is a bug or a small spider there. She is meowing because she is upset - she can't reach her pray, and the movement distracts her.
If the prey is on a wall, I may sometimes lift my kitty to it, just to get a smell (he will usually knock it down and chase it across the floor). The celing is just too high in my flat, so he has to live with not being able to reach it.

She's looking for her Mom...
And, the echo in your room is freaking her out... remember, she's a baby and the only thing she knew (Momma and siblings) for 6 months of her life is gone... also, a cats hearing is at least 6-times more sensitive then ours so I imagine she hears the sounds of her brothers and sisters in the echoing feedback.
Sad but true... you need to hold her, love her and be her new Mom. Take care and keep her safe - Good Luck.

It sounds like she may be in heat. Cats cry a LOT when in heat and do other strange things, like drag their bodies along the floor or stand with their butts in the air. That's how they let male cats know they are ready to be bred. You may also notice blood around her "girlie" parts or that that area looks swollen. Cats are always in heat. They can come out of it for a few days but unless they are spayed or become pregnant they go back into it within a few days. (That's why there are so many stray cats around, they are always ready to make babies!) The only way to fix that is to have her spayed. She's old enough so you should have her fixed as soon as possible. It's better for her health-wise and it will return peace to your house. Good luck!

Cats can meow for no reason at all. But she may be seeing something up there that you don't. Just try giving her more attention. If this doesn't work take her to the vet. If she's a pure bred this could be the first sign that she is half blind. My Flame Point Himalayan used to go into the bathroom and get lost because the acoustics confused him and he was half blind and half deaf.

Possibly In Heat And Possibly Retarded. and she could have an eye disease in which Dark patches, stars or images dance around on her Retinas or Optic Nerves and Since I Assume Your Ceiling Is Non textured And White, She Would See Them more clearly On The Ceiling, and thinks they're real cause she's young and that's all she knows. And She Could Be Trying to Meow At Them And/Or Alert You To their Presense.
HOPE THIS HELPS
