That one's easy, Gang! In the 1960's - when people started thinking that, "All you need is LOVE!"
They forgot about respect and discipline!

Well, they do usually stop bragging when little Fifi is running the house and biting people, especially when they have to pay me $$$ to come in and fix the problem they created!
Photogal - there is a BIG difference between using propaganda to sell dog food and using propaganda to end pet ownership! People expect for a company to push their product. Now, if the dog food manufacturer were actually putting Cyanide in the kibble and selling it as food, you could make this comparision. They DO NOT expect an organization that professes to love animals to manufacture lies and use pictures of cute little puppies to raise cash to end all animal ownership! Do you not get it, or do you really just hate animals??? I am SICK and TIRED of fighting the AR groups so that misguided do-gooders can continue to own dogs!

I grew up in a very privilged lifestyle and I was so sick of being the youngest and being told I was spoiled rotten. I never asked for anything and always worked to get what I wanted. I would say that I was somewhat ashamed of being a privilged kid, it was harder fitting in with the higher ups. I always had my own clic and people talked. I just hope that kids these days appreciate what they have and don't live off mommy and daddy. They have and never will know the value of a honest dollar.

Since TV and Movies made it popular
they glamorized the spoiled brat that lied and connived to get what ever they wanted, they may comedies about it and now it is what everyone wants to be.
no more nice guy is right
We have been totally deceived by the media, TV & movies into thinking that right is very wrong and wrong is very desirable and correct.

How can you breed dogs when you know there are thousands upon thousands of dogs that are killed every year???? And comparing a dog to soup? Nice one. Just goes to show how ignorant and materialistic you really are. Dogs are not brands, if you want to buy a brand shop at Macy's. Dogs are not meant to be apart of your twisted hobby of "breeding". If you really cared about them, you would stop exploiting them. And in response to my IAMS posting - you said PETA uses propaganda, well guess what companies use to sell their products?? Propaganda. If you knew anything about mass communication you would know that propaganda is only the rhetoric that you do not agree with.

when our time became so tight, and left no time for pampering. animals and children SHOULD BE SPOILED!! thats not to say they dont require leadership. its said to mean there is not enough time in a dogs life time ( or a childs) to waste on not spoiling. spoiling doesnt mean "messing up" anymore. it means being kind.

I think the era of Paris Hilton has caused this attitude. Some people think dogs are cute accessories or babies and don't understand training or discipline.
