We always sit down as a family to eat an evening meal. I enjoy catching up with everybody's day & we tend to have a lot of our family chats, in a light hearted manner this way.

Eating evening and Sunday meals together is a long running tradition in my family. We have outlawed reading, watching television, or answering the telephone during meals, and no eating in bedrooms(no IMs, either). We use this time to see how everybody's day went, and to share general information with each other. One of my children plays basketball and the other is a cheerleader, so when they have practice we usually wait until everyone is home before we eat. We also solicit menu ideas from the children (they are 13 and 16).

Sitting at the table for meals is a must,I think it is the best part of family life, there is nothing nicer,my children are all married now and in their own homes with their families and they do the same ,it is a time when you are all together after working all day,we used to discuss how their day went, I as a mum miss that time more than anything when all my children were at home.

We have always sat down together for our evening meal, that was me, my wife & our four children. We always thought it was very important to get together & talk about each others day. Quite often friends of the kids joined us. Since my wife died last year I have continued to do this, the kids, now all adults, bring their partners now & again. We quite often have 8 or 9 sat at the table to eat & I also do take aways for those that cant attend.
We all think that it is a good bonding session, where we can talk about Mam & all the happy times that we had together.
Long may it last. I really enjoy it.

My flatmate and I sit down at the table about 3 times a week. Either I cook for him or he cooks for me and the effort we have put in usually makes us want to sit at the table with candles, napkins, placemats and the whole sha-bang. The rest of the time we sit on the sofa and use the coffee table. That is good too though. I like to veg in front of the tv sometimes!

My family of 4 use to sit in the lounge with trays on our laps but we have now started sitting at the table in the kitchen.
We all seem to like it, gives us a proper chance to talk etc. Saying that I don't know what will happen when "clubs" start again next week!

I have a family of four and only me and my 2 year old son sit at the dinner table. Daughter and husband sit in the lounge in front of the TV. Shocking I know but that's life.

me and my husband always make it a point to eat together - breakfast and dinner - coz we both work full time so have to eat our lunch at work.

sometimes when one of us is out with friends for a couple of drinks, the other one usually waits for the other to come back home !

sitting down and having meal with family is very important.

when we have relatives around, we get extra chairs and make sure everyone eats together !

it bonds :)
