If you keep asking she will get to dislike you. Just be her friend and be there for her. Take her out, but don't call it a date. Just say it's a friendly night out or something like that.
If you do this she will get to like you more until she has to leave the other guy for you. Either that or if she ever breaks up with the guy you will be her first choice.
However, DON'T ask straight away if she does. Give it a bit of time, if you want to be safe wait until she asks you.
