If you became involved in one intimate encounter with the same sex would you consider yourself gay or lesbian.

I am interested in a woman who has never been in a relationship with another woman. I have been lesbian for over 13 years. I told my friend I wanted to take things slow just to be sure of her true feelings. She says that she is sure that she wants to be with me. and that she has no desire to date men anymore. Should I be cautious because I will be her first or should I just throw caution to the wind and go for it.

Bi-sexuality is more prevalent than full on sexuality of either stance. I'd see it as a fling until she proves otherwise, IN TIME....as ANY relationship would be. No-one is going to say...oh yes you are "the one"....when they havent even had a relationship with you yet.

Going slow doesnt do anything except frustrate people...so dont do that either because it wont MAKE her a gay person if she isnt. Stop protecting yourself so much....have fun and quit seeing forever in anothers eyes or you'll miss out on the here and now. Do you have so many prospective lovers that you want to toss this one away....even if she doesnt stay long?

be careful, i thought i was a lesbian but then realised that i liked both, if she likes you then there should be no problem, the only problem with 'newcomers' is they are bothered about what other people think.

Go for it. but remember she hasn't done this before so don't rush into the physical side. my last partner was the same (we broke up for unrelated reasons)
