My dorm room came with a desk lamp but it's really boring. I can't take the lampshade off and i don't want to buy a new lamp. Is there a way I can embelish it. Keep in mind I am a "starving student". Thanx!

decopauge...u can actually glue paper to it from a pretty design or even a magazine..u don't like that idea just throw a sheer scarf over it

I loved the first answers... very much what I was going to suggest, maybe your school colours, or items from frosh week tickets, etc, however do keep in mind what could be beautiful could easily become a fire hazzard..... you may want to check with your floor advisor as to what is acceptable.

If you can't remove the lampshade, how in the heck are you going to be able to wear it on your head at all those parties????

Aha, use your imagination. Are you aloud to paint it? stick notes to it, tie ribbons,set beads. A lot depends on what your room looks like too. wallies or wall paper, cut something to match your room ,glue it
