I have a very vocal cat. But he only seems to meow non-stop when 1.) I come home after being gone for a few hours and 2.) In the morning when we come out of the bedroom (he's not allowed in there for many reasons!) Anyway, he'll just walk around the house MEOWING for a good 20 minutes. I fugure he's either been lonely or he is mad at us for leaving him alone. Does anyone else have any ideas for this odd behavior? Thanks!

My kitten does this all the time too, even if im gone for 10 minutes! what works for when you first come home is a small treat, like a little spoon full of moistfood, that will quiet him sometimes, but nothing works in the morning! ask him quietly what he wants and tell him its ok. but mine annouces when hes leaving/returning to a room, when he's going to eat, poop, you name it!

If he's an only cat this is a real simple problem. He is lonely, bored and frustrated. Think what you would do if you were left alone for several hours day and night with nothing to do but wander the house, sleep and eat. It would suck wouldn't it? To resolve this, get him a friend. A younger cat, male would be best, that he can befriend.

If there are other cats in the house then this could simply be that he is a very vocal animal. He is talking to you.

My older cat is like this, talks all the time to me. If he's mad he will sit at my feet and stare up at me while expressing in howls what his feelings are over what I've done. If he's happy he sits close and meows away in between purrs and chitters. If he's hungry he screams for food while trying to trip me or throwing himself on the ground and pretending to suffer from hunger.

The younger cat only cries when my husband gets home and he wants attention. Otherwise he remains on his perches (bookshelf, table and cat tree) and likes to be mysterious and silent.

Cats have all sorts of personalities. They express themselves according to their personality. Just be sure that your cat isn't crying because he is truly alone and miserable for company. Sometimes cats can kind of lose it when they are forced to be alone all the time ...

It is not an odd behavior, I had a cat who was like that too, cats get bored and demand attention sometimes, anyway, my cat used to get on my nerves with so much meowing! so I took him to the vet and the vet asked me if I had dogs and I said no, he said that cats just by nature do not like dogs and they will behave like that if there is a dog around, he also told me that cats like to have company, so I GOT another cat, and that stopped the problem, he was so busy playing with the Kittie that i guess he forgot about us, after a while i got another cat...and that is how i ended up with 3 cats!

Cats are nocturnal animals and are somewhat energetic around break of day and nightfall. My boyfriend tells me that my cat meows around 5 or 6 interior the morning. i'm a heavy sleeper, so it does not complication me. On weekdays, it somewhat is whilst i'm regularly waking up, so in keeping with risk she thinks I overslept. the two way, it is common cat habit. He is additionally meowing using fact he's in a clean spot and nonetheless adjusting.

The cat needs love. He is definetly voicing his unhappiness about being alone. Perhaps leave the tv on while your gone, find new toys for him to play with, or even another cat for a playmate. Sounds to me like your cat just needs more love from you!

I think your cat is trying to tell you that he doesn't like to be left alone... one of my cats is like that and yes - he meows and meows as soon as i make an appearance. I guess you'll either have to get him a playmate or let him into your room...
