Everyday Menus: Breakfast for Dinner

think it's a shame that most breakfasts in this day and age are eaten on the run. Even when we take the time to make a more complicated breakfast, your family is busy to start the day and just don't want to sit around the table talking. Serve breakfast foods for dinner, and you get the best of both worlds; talking and relaxing at the end of the day, and delicious, comforting, very simple foods.

Swiss Eggs is one of my favorite recipes. It's simple and comforting, and lets you prepare eggs for a bunch without having to stand over the stove while everybody else eats. The side dishes are great complements to this simple main dish. And best of all, everything except the eggs and the sausage and bacon can be made ahead of time.

Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake is a great dessert (plus, you get to eat leftovers on the run tomorrow morning!) that has a brown sugar streusel running through a meltingly tender cake.

I love having breakfast for dinner...in fact, thinking of having scrambled eggs tonight w/toast. I don't think it is odd at all! In fact, when I worked nights, I would stop by IHOP a lot and get pancakes. Yum!

I read your list and I'm sorry but those are not things I eat. Maybe I might eat a pancake if any of my nieces want to cook me a breakfast, lunch or dinner. I would be so impressed with them doing that. I have a 2 year old niece--born in Switzerland but she was "Spoken into being" while her parents were in Antigua on vacation. She dances like a Caribbean lady, and is as funny as the ladies who sell on the beaches down there. Her mother keeps telling me that she wants to make pancakes and eggs. I will remember you.

I used to all the time when I was pregnant. Eggs and toast are so easy on a upset tummy. Same for my family if they have been ill. Breakfast in bed served by Mom is the ultimate comfort food.ll

Sure breakfast is good any time. When I was a teenager I was a busboy and sometimes I worked the bar rush at the restaurant. In our town the bars closed at 2 am and the restaurant was packed with drunks. There is something about huevos rancheros w/ green chili sauce to get the head straight.

Yes . .very often. . as a student and working various shifts your schedule can get turned around and you wind up having dinner in the morning and breakfast at night.. Just because, it is sometimes handy to just have a bowl of cereal or fruit and crackers at night if you go to bed early and/or have a big {dinner type meal} in the morning if you know you are going to have a long busy day.

Oh Yeah !!! a couple times a month at least. Its my son's favorite dinner....he likes for me to make home-made biscuits and sausage gravy...fried potatoes and eggs....over medium.
They also like pancakes and bacon.

Not odd at all...its a great change once in a while.
