I think the same reasons which will have attracted the man to fall in love with the woman are the ones which will buoy him to step up to the next level - - - engagement.
The adage,love is blind or beauty is in the eye of the beholder sometimes holds true here coz some men just marry on the spur of the moment.
However, the most likely reasons are love ; an understanding and passionate partner who is also prepared to settle down come rain or shine.The woman should also be honest,cheerful, simple,funny and should know how to react in any given situation.
Since marriage is a life commitment most men usually take their time towards their selection of a life partner and never try to hurry them as this will freak them out.Sex is another attribute which lure men into marriage and yes, you should know how to handle him when he is in for it or when he is finding it difficult in being aroused.
Thus is my own summary of some of the qualities which entice men into marriage.

He also has decided whether or not he wants to have children, whether or not he wants the benefit of the love of a good woman.

So now begins the process of 'finding the right woman.' When you date a woman with the intention of possibly marrying her, then sex should be of little importance, because in a marriage, it's not about sex.

A man's most influential woman in his life is his mother so I believe if the man can see the similar valued qualities in a woman and a special inner security feeling he will want to spend the rest of his life with the woman he loves and trusts.

Well, actually there are a few things. For one, the guy has to be ready to settle down. Because he can be with the girl of his dreams and still not be ready to get married. A guy needs to feel he is stable enough to take care of his woman and family and needs to be secure that he is with the woman of his life knowing that this would be the last woman he would be with. It has alot to do with timing and of course the girl.

Strange that only 1 guy has answered!
Have only seen one couple truly marry for love and that marriage is still going strong, most of my female friends seemed to have married for money/status/security, or just desperation, although their friends have married so they need to too! I'm still waiting for the knight in shining armour and the happy every after ending... but have a feeling I will end up with a bunch of cats!!!

It's exactly the same thing that should make a woman say yes! It's when you've built a great relationship, based on love, respect and friendship. It's when you are with the person who enriches your life and makes you better than you were without them. It's when you can't imagine your life without that person because of all the good they bring to your life.

i used to think that with my man "why is he not proposing when it feels so right why can't i be one of those woman who men want to marry after a few months?"
i started asking and he he kept telling me "i will do it when i'm ready"
then i just let it go as i knew he wasn't asgainst the whole idea and then after 1 year and 3 months he proposed! and he said he would of done it earlier but he had no time to wip into town without me knowing what he was up to as i was away on work when he got it.
So i don't think we have to change to make them want to marry a super woman i think sometimes guys can just be lazy in getting their asses to town.
