Everyone in the world is learning English, in China, in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East. But I really doubt anyone wants to learn British English, everyone in the world is trying to learn American slang, use the same expressions as people in American TV, they are attentive to the way they talk on MTV. But I no one wants to learn British English, people who do want to, already know American English, and are learning for fun just as they would be learning French or Japanese. I've heard people saying they want to learn UK English, and everyone else telling they are wasting their time.

Do UK people get angry people from all over the world go to England wanting to speak to them in American English?

No, The education systems in Africa and many asian countries use British English... That's why most visitors to britain experience little or no communication troubles..

when visitors from these countries move to america, they will have difficulties due to their british accents.

When i 1st came to america I did not know these words: -

Restroom, bathroom, period, gas station, soccer

I don't agree with you. I'm sure that many people want to learn British English rather that American. I think that in most of the countries children in schools study British English as a foreign language.

Is that a result of some opinion poll or something? Because my English teacher (English is my second language) didn't want to hear a word of "American" English. Only the proper Queen's English. If you learn English in Europe, it's British English. And that's the way it should be, I think.

I personally prefer the brittish english and i'm from latinamerica (most of the people in my country agree with me).
You are right, many people is learning english but not all of them are learning the american one. Maybe the people around you is the one wanting to learn the american slang or kids who watch MTV all day long, but a big part of the world (Europe, Asia and African) they teaching and learning brittish english, so i don't think UK people is angry.

World is a little bigger than that you think.

You might want first to determine whether no one wants to learn UK English. If you find this to actually be the case, you would then do well to ask people in or from the UK how they feel.

yes, everything is utopian cool in england now and so they have nothing to worry about, so they take your idea of reality as fact and then spend all their time upset about it.
