I got a cat just like that! Bushy, he does not like anybody or anything! except for me my husband and my other two cats, one time when grandma came to visit, he was laying on top of the refrigerator and mamaw was standing next to the refrigerator and out of the nothing he smacked her in the head! it was so funny! People don't believe me when I tell them that he is the most lovable of all the cats I have, he is so sweet with us, he rolls his belly up for us and does all kinds of cute things with us but as soon as someone comes here he goes wild and mean. I feel like he is really protective and as long as I put him away while we have visitors everything is ok. I believe your Kittie cat is just looking after you!

Cats Are Very Territorial. That mans a cat feels a stranger has invaded his/her territory. In a case like that, a cat could be aggressive in direction of one cat -- frequently the main undemanding-going -- yet friendly to a diverse. The time while problems crop up is while a sparkling kitty arrives, a youthful kitten will become a individual cat, or the homestead cat looks out the window to be certain a wierd cat interior the backyard -- the homestead cat might chase, ambush, hiss, and/or meow angrily. And it’s no longer purely the lads. woman cats might properly be in basic terms as infuriated by ability of strangers.

Well.. the cat, of course, is in love with his master(that would be Y O U ) and I had the same problem (short lived).. I would scold the cat and softly spank it when I scolded it whenever the cat would hiss, etc at another person.. I would have visitors then cautiously pet the cat over and over again to teach the cat that strangers are nice (not really) but the cat did not know any differently.

While it is rare, it is not strange. I wonder if you have had the cat for it's whole life or if perhaps it was mistreated by another owner. Or it could be something else. I always consider these cats a challenge and I had a neighbor cat that it took me a full year to get that cat to respond to me - but after a year, he was devoted to me.
I have an awesome Animal Communicator that I use - she is great and not that expensive - she could help you find out why your cat is like that and if there is anything you can do or even say to help her feel more comfortable with strangers. It must be very stressful for her. Here is Dawn's link:

She's just not very social. I would wager that she was raised in the house with ONLY you and not much other human contact.
Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about it once they reach this age.
I had a cat that was the same way. It became somewhat of a problem when I got married and started having kids, but, as he was my "first baby" we made do.

My sister has a cat like that - she only comes to you when she wants a pet or two, then she'll walk off or give you a hiss - like, "okay, that's all I wanted, leave me be now!"
My ex-husband called her the 'watch-cat' because she always laid by the door and hissed at people when they walked in the house.

Well, we have a Russian Blue, and she hates everyone else except my and my husband. There's only two other people she'll tolerate and that's only because they come over a lot. Anyone else, she'll run from and if I try to place her in their arms, she'll scratch them and she actually hissed at two of our visitors. So, I guess it's normal especially depending on their breed.

This is quite normal. All cats are different. Mine used to be really anti social and still won't let anyone else pick him up or anything (although he lurves me!). I found just having more people around got him used to them and he gradually relaxed. Just make her feel safe, she might not ever be affectionate to others but she will probably stop attacking them! Good luck.

You call that a strange cat? Mine likes to eat grass and dog food (occasionally on the dog food), and plays with socks and tape measurers! Plus he loves to sleep in my bed with me, whether it's at my feet, or more preferably right next to my head, lying on my chest, or my back sometimes. He even licks my neck as though he were drinking milk from his momma (he wasn't entirely weaned when I brought him home) He only likes one kind of cat food (one flavor) and tackles my ankles while I walk. Once, he came skidding up to the front door to grab my leg as though he were trying to keep me from leaving the house!
You should read my blog, I come with with stories about him! His name is Dobby.
