The Dell E1505...its a great laptop at an affordable price. You can get a 120GB hard drive in it which is all the memory you need. It has been the most picked laptop by students and is an editor's choice laptop by pcmag.com
I have one and absolutely love it...it hasn't crashed on me once, and i use it for everything from playing all my music, to video editing, to photoshop, and schoolwork. All-around a great notebook.

You generally purchase a laptop like an auto. Whatever the intended purpose you decide the affordability and then the features.

If you are going to school and not sure what to get. I suggest, if you can afford it, the iMac book with Intel inside. This laptop is not the least expensive but it will run Windows XP and the OSX operating system. Then you must decide the cost for the office programs and the editing software or your photos. There are a lot of people that swears by the reliability of the OSX operating system. Good Luck!

You have many options, if you want a computer that not crash, try to buy a MacBook or MacBook Pro, the MacOSX it's very stable operative system. If you want to by a PC, you can try with Dell or HP. Buy the computer with 80 or more gigabytes of harddisk, 512 megabytes of RAM and the procesor could be a Intel Duo.

An apple. They are far superior to all other computers, hands down. I got my hands on an ibook two years ago, and have become a mac snob. All computers with a windows operating system drive me nuts.

Well, it's all about money here. Their all equal now.

But what's most important, who can service them & repair quickly.

Look at any walk in computer store. Mail orders of any type is tooo slow for me.
